(1946-2006)
conductor of the Leningrad Academic Maliy Opera and Ballet Theatre (1975 – 1980), the State Symphony Orchestra of the Tatar SSR (1980 – 1989). He was conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg from 1991. From 2001 to 2004 he was Principal Conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Between 1980 – 1989 he chief-conducted the State Symphony Orchestra of the Tatar SSR.
