Artyom Vargaftic graduated from the Academic College of Music at the Moscow State Conservatory, the Russian Gnesins’ Academy of Music (cello), and did the Postgraduate course of the Moscow State Conservatory in history and theory of performance (1998). Since 1997 Vargaftic has been a lecturer in the Gnesins’ Academy of Music (history of cello art).
In the years from 1994 to 2003, he was a musical observer on the «Moscow’s echo» radio, since 2004 he's been an anchorperson of the «Disputable Music» program on the «Mayak-FM» channel.
Since 1996 Artyom is a classical music programs presenter («Culture's Garden», «Orchestra Pit», «Scores don't burn»). Vargaftic is twice a winner of the «TEFI» Russian television award (2003, 2004).
