I haven’t seen there the people who have gone to show-off. Also, there were not many celebrities. However, there was vivid and happy public for whom the meeting with the composer Sergei Rachmaninoff and the pianist Denis Matsuev was the Event with the capital letter.
There was a free entrance at the festival. Everyone could register on the site and get the invitation. There were a lot of women with kids and young couples. There was lots of treat for free. Such as juice and champagne, ice-cream and even cherry. But the main treat was ahead. It was the spring music programme which consisted of Rachmaninoff Spring Cantata and Holy Spring by Stravinsky. The concert was given by Tatarstan National Symphony orchestra and conductor Alexander Sladkovsky. Their way to play can be described in two words sharp-сut skill and temperament.
There were wonderful voices of soloists – Vasily Laduk and Venera Gimadieva. They and Academic Choir by V. S. Popov gave the sense of a holiday. Even the kids accepted the difficult things such as Stravinsky in a good way. The culmination of the evening was the performance of Denis Matsuev surrounded by the flowers of white lilac. Howerver, the brightest thing of the evening was the encore of Tatarstan National Symphony orchestra. It was Tamerlane’ Camp by Alexander Tchaikovsky . How wonderful it was! The public was amused by the wild energetic of composition and temperament of the orchestra under Alexander Sladkovsky. The encore was played twice. The public did not let the orchestra go. The festival which was 2 weeks nearly ended. In the future there will be the final day and the rewarding of laureates of Oleg Yankovsky award. That’s a pity that we will wait for one year for a new blooming of the Cherry Orchard.
