Viktor Tretyakov can safely be called one of the symbols of Russian violin school. Magnificent possession of the instrument, incredible theatrical energy and deep insight to the style of performing works – all these qualities, typical for violinist, over the years attract a vast number of music admirers all over the World.
Getting musical education in music school in Irkutsk, and continuing it in Central music school, Victor Tretyakov brilliantly finished it in Moscow State conservatory in the class of famous teacher Yuri Yankelevich.
In 1966 Viktor Tretyakov became the laureate of the I-st prize of the International contest named after P.I.Tchaikovsky. From this time splendid concert activity begins for the violinist. He performs as a soloist and in the group with many famous conductors and musicians of modernity all over the World with permanent success, takes part in many International festivals.
The geography of his tours covers Great Britain, USA, Germany, Austria, Poland, Japan, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, Scandinavian countries and Latin America. The basis of the repertory of the violinist compose violin concertos of the 19th century (Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Bruch, Tchaikovsky); his interpretation of the works of the 20th century, first of all — Shostakovich and Prokofiev – are known as exemplary in native performing practice.
Viktor Tretyakov shows himself in various creative activity: from 1983 to 1991 he headed State chamber orchestra of USSR, became the art director and follower of famous Rudolf Barshaj. The Viktor Tretyakov successfully combines concert performances with pedagogic and social activity.
For many years the musician presents himself the professor of Moscow conservatory and Cologne Higher music school; he is regularly invited for holding master classes and presides as chairman of Charity fund named after Y.I.Yankelevich. The violinist also leaded repeatedly the work of jury of violinists of the International contest named after P.I.Tchaikovsky.
