Lev Leschenko (was born the 1st of February, 1942, Moscow) — Soviet and Russian pop singer (baritone) and artist of operetta, teacher.
In 1969 Lev Leschenko is a full member of Moscow theatre of operetta. Here he plays many roles, but Leschenko as an artist, realizing the value of his singing talent wants to find real big job. And he gets this opportunity the 13th of February in 1970: he successfully passes the contest and becomes the soloist of Gosteleradio USSR
Intensive creative activity begins: obligatory performances with microphone be the radio and fund recordings of romances, folk and soviet songs, lyric compositions of foreign composers, the role of Porgy in the opera "Porgy and Bess" by G.Gershwin, the first recording with the Big symphony orchestra headed by G.Rozhdestvensky at the oratorio of R.Schedrin "Lenin in the people’s hearts", the recordings with pop symphony orchestra headed by Y.V.Silantiev.
In 1977 Lev Leschenko being already admitted as the expert of variety, was awarded the title of Honoured artist of RSFSR.
In 1990 he created and headed the theatre of variety performances "Music agency", which got the status of state theatre in 1992. The primary activity of the theatre is the organization of tours, concerts, presentations, evenings. More than 10 years Lev Leschenko has been teaching in the musical training Gnesins’ institute (nowadays Russian Gnesins’ academy). Many of his students became famous artists: Marina Hlebnikova, Katya Lel, Olga Arefieva and many others.
The 1-st of February, 2002 Lev Leschenko was awarded the Order of Merit for the Motherland, IV degree.
