Aida Garifullina was born in Kazan. When she was 13, she became a grant holder of Fyodor Chaliapin Fund and was awarded "Voice of the Year". In the same year Aida performed at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow during the festival in “Gifted Children of Tatarstan”. She studied voice in Nurnberg Siegfried Jerusalem and with Claudia Visca in Vienna.
During her studies and after she graduated, Aida was invited to various events and festivals.
2005
In 2005 she took part in the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, where she sang in front of numerous foreign delegations, the President of UNESCO, President of Turkey, as well three Russian presidents - Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev.
2007
In autumn she continues studying vocal in the legendary University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, known as “Vienna Conservatory”, in the class of professor Claudia Vissa.
2009
The students and staff of the University staged Mozart's opera "Così fan tutte” ("Everybody do so"), in which Aida made her debut, singing a part of Despina.
2010
Aida finishes her study in Vienna Conservatory. In October she participates in the Muslim Magomaev First International Competition of Vocalists in Moscow.
In 2010 Aida participated in the Muslim Magomaev’s First International Competition of Vocalists in Moscow, and began a creative collaboration with famed composer Walter Afanaseff.
2011
On November, 3 Aida performed “Phacelia” vocal cycle in the concert held in Modern music center and dedicated to 80 years anniversary of the outstanding modern composer Sofia Gubaidulina, in the presence and with the approval of the author.
On August, 23, Aida participated in the closing ceremony of the XXVI World Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China.
2012
In 2012 Aida was lucky enough to act on the stage of one of the largest Opera festivals in Europe - the Arena di Verona in Italy, where she held her first meeting with Placido Domingo. Aida performed "Je veux vivre" from the Opera of Charles Gounod's "Romeo and Juliet".
In the same year, at the opening of the Russian House at the XXX Summer Olympics in London, Aida got acquainted to Valery Gergiev, the art Director of Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
2013
In January 2013 Aida, at the invitation of Valery Gergiev, made her debut on the stage of Mariinsky Theatre in the role of Susanna in the Opera Buffa of Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro". Later in the repertoire of Aida were included the roles of Gilda ("Rigoletto") and Adina ("The Love Potion").
In July, as the Ambassador of the Universiade, she sang at the opening Ceremony of Summer Universiade 2013 in her home city, Kazan. Aida also performed at the closing ceremony of "Cultural Universiade" with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. The concert was recorded for the Mezzo TV (France).
In August 2013 Aida again performed at the Arena di Verona, but at this time as a contestant of the Operalia-2013. Aida won the First prize at the International Competition of Opera Singers of Placido Domingo, Operalia-2013. At the contest, there were arias of Nanetta ("Falstaff"), Snow Maiden (the “Snow Maiden”), Susanna ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Juliet ("Montagues and Capulets" Bellini).
It is definitely the turning point of Aida’s career. From that day the art life of young singer makes a great bounce: she receives numerous invitations from the most famous opera theatres of the world.
On the 16th October, Aida, was awarded the title "Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan" and was awarded a Commendation Certificate of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 30th October, 2013 Aida performed at a charity concert of Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, performing the Violetta-Germont duet together with Placido Domingo.
The fruitful 2013 was culminated by two performances at the Mariinsky theatre and a duet with the star of world Opera scene, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli at the charity Gala concert "David Foster & Friends" in Toronto.
2014
Performance at the World Economic Forum in Davos on 22nd January became the first event of the current year.
2014 promises to be a turning point in the career of the young singer. The leadership of Stats - Opera (Vienna) signed a contract for 2 years with Aida. She also signed a contract with the record company “DECCA Records” in London. Aida’s creative activity is from now becoming more organized and focused.
Aida Garifullina took part at the annual festival "Hvorostovsky and Friends" of the well-known Russian baritone on the 15th in Saint Petersburg and 19th of March in Moscow.
In April Aida performed Great mass C minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart concerts in Madrid.
On 22nd of May Aida performed together with Placido Domingo in her native Kazan. One of the most famous Opera tenors was long-awaited in the capital of Tatarstan. In the end, the visit took place in the year of Culture.
Aida has a rare beauty soprano, which was formed earlier enough. With a voice posed by nature, at 11 years Aida already could sing simple Opera arias. Tenderness, softness, warmth and depth make her voice today unmistakable. Its implementation always has an inherent impeccable taste, sense of style and restraint and severity in the expression of feelings, caused by its mentality. All of the above, in combination with her external beauty, youth and charm make her executable images, sometimes, simply irresistible.
