Born in 1973, Cesar Alvarez is currently considered by international critics as one of the strongest values of orchestral conducting. It was initially formed at the Oviedo Conservatory of Music, to then continue his conducting studies in Madrid, with maestro Benito Lauret, who takes as favorite student and which receives an intense human formation and musical. He later moved to Moscow to study at the Moscow State Conservatory "Chaikovsky", where he enters to work with the prestigious maestros Dmitri Kitaienko and Igor Dronov. There make further studies of piano, counterpoint, Fugue and composition, filling them with the highest qualifications.
Cesar Alvarez had share stage with some of the top world musicians as Denis Matsuev (piano), Alexander Rudin (cello), Marc Grauwels (flute), Liana Isakadze (violin), etc. and with world renowned orchestras such as Russian National Orchestra, Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra, Vanderbilt Symphony Orchestra (USA), Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, "Musica Viva” Chamber Orchestra (Moscow), New Music Studio (Moscow), Symphony Orchestra of Krasnoyarsk, Oviedo Filarmonía Symphony Orchestra, Omsk Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Asturias, Albanian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and many others.
Cesar Alvarez has done long concert tours among many countries, as People's Republic of China, USA and Russia. In addition to a busy schedule of concerts, devoted a part of his time to teaching important work, Professor of orchestral conducting at the Murcia State Conservatory and as guest teacher at Vanderbilt University (Tennessee - USA). At age 28, in 2001, in competition and unanimous choice of all the musicians, he was appointed as Principal Conductor of the Tomsk Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia), where he has been Principal Conductor until 2011 and named Honorary Conductor. Season 2011-2012 is appointed as Principal Guest Conductor of the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra.
Cesar Alvarez has a long and fruitful artistic and personal relationship with the film composer Edward Artemiev, (head of how filmmakers composer Nikita Mikhailkov, Andrey Kontchalovski and Tarkovsky).
