When Ksenia was 5 years old, she entered Gnessin special school of music (piano class). Her teacher was S. S. Efrussi. On graduating from the school she continued her studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and went to the class of Prof. L. N. Naumov.
After her postgraduate studies were over, she got the degree in chamber music (class of Prof. T.A. Alikhanov) and accompaniment (class of assoc.prof. I.V. Kirillova).
At the age of 10 K.Bashmet first performed abroad at a music festival for children in New York, USA.
Aged 12, she first performed with the chamber music ensemble at the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory (Musical Meetings in Russia International Festival).
K. Bashmet has appeared in the following international festivals: Young Stars of the 21st Century (Samara), December Evenings of Sviatoslav Richter, Moscow Autumn, The Return and Ars Longa (Moscow) as well as at festivals in Rolandseck (Germany), Tours (France), Verbier (Switzerland), Tanglewood (USA) and Elba (Italy).
She gave concerts in Europe, Japan, the USA and Israel at venues, including Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein and the Beethoven Hall among others. She performed with such chamber ensembles as the Moscow Soloists, New Russia and the Russian Chamber Orchestra of London, as well as the philharmonic orchestras of Sochi, Tolyatti, Samara, Krasnoyarsk and Voronezh. She performed with outstanding musicians, including Yuri Bashmet, Saulius Sondeckis, Gidon Kremer, Natalia Gutman, Viktor Tretyakov, Alexander Knyazev and Boris Andrianov.
