Laura Giordano is considered one of the most talented sopranos of her generation, appreciated by public and critics (who defined her as “grace incarnate”) for her impeccable vocal technique and timbre seductive, enriched by a charming stage presence and outstanding acting.
Laura was born in Palermo and started her career at the age of 16, by winning the competition OperaLaboratorio at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo for two consecutive years (1997, 1998), and making her debut in the title roles in I Pazzi per Progetto by Donizetti and in Adina by Rossini. After having finished her liberal studies, she dedicated herself totally to the opera debuting in the Teatro Massimo in Palermo in the role of Diana in Orphee aux Enfers by Offenbach. In April 2000, she drew the attention of Italian critics and the public with her interpretation of the role of Sophie in Massenet’s Werther in her native town.
From that moment she began her journey as an artist that was taken to the most prestigious international stages to cooperate with her colleagues and the most distinguished conductors of today.
Laura has Vivaldi’s Olimpiade recorded with Rinaldo Alessandrini and an earlier unpublished duet by Rossini with Riccardo Chailly (Decca). She interpreted the role of Musetta in La Boheme in a DVD recorded at the Teatro Real, Madrid, Norina in Don Pascuale conducted by Riccardo Muti, La pietra di paragone conducted by Spinozi.
In 2010 she interpreted Nanetta in Falstaff, Despina in Cose fan tutte, Musetta in La Boheme.
In 2011 she debuted with Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, then she performed in Mario del Monaco Theatre (Norina in Don Pascuale), and in the Seoul Art Center (Gilda in Rigoletto).
She began the season of 2012 with a recital in Palermo and Don Pascuale in Ferrara to continue it with Falstaff in Teatro Politeama of Palermo.
