Sandra Pastrana graduated very young in Violin, then studied Voice graduating with honors from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona under the guidance of Eduardo Gimenez. She won numerous international competitions, including the "Manuel Ausensi" and "Francisco Viñas" competitions in Barcelona, and the "Ottavio Ziino" international competition in Rome. She made her debut performing Norina in Don Pasquale and Micaela in Carmen at the Sabadell Theatre in Barcelona. She then sang Ninetta in Cimarosa's Chi dell'Altrui si Veste Presto si Spoglia at the University Theatre of Barcelona, followed by important debuts at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona: La Serva Padrona(Serpina); Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges; Parsifal with Placido Domingo; Norma; and Semiramideopposite Juan Diego Florez.
Highlights of her numerous collaborations include Werther (Sophie) in Salerno and Sassari; L'Elisir d'Amore(Adina) in Malaga; Il Viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival; Offenbach's Orphée aux Enfers(Eurydice) at the Auditorium Manuel de Falla in Granada; La Sonnambula (Lisa) at the Teatro La Maestranza in Sevilla, at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, in Malaga directed by Marcello Panni, at the Santander Festival and at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa under the baton of Daniel Oren; La Fille du Regiment(Marie) in Japan on tour with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna under the baton of Bruno Campanella; Don Pasqualeconducted by Riccardo Muti in Ravenna, Piacenza and at the Musikverein in Vienna; La Bohème (Musetta) in Rovigo, Padua, Bassano del Grappa and Jesolo; La Clemenza di Tito (Servilia) in Sassari under the baton of Eric Hull; Adelaide di Borgogna (Euridice) with Alberto Zedda at the Festival Mozart in La Coruña; Thaïs (La Charmeuse) in Barcelona; Rigoletto (Gilda) in Seoul; La Rondine (Lisette) staged by Graham Vick at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; and La Traviata (Violetta) in Marbella.
She also enjoys an intensive concert activity in a wide-ranging repertoire of symphony and chamber music, including Mendelssohn's Salmo n.42 in Barcelona; Mozart's Exultate, Jubilate and Schubert's Salve Regina at the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona; Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras in Germany; Albéniz's Pepita Jiménez at the Gran Teatro dell'Opera in Cordoba; Milhaud's Il Ratto d'Europa (Europa) and L'Abandon d'Ariane (Ariane) in Sevilla; Carmina Burana at the Teatro Verdi in Florence and at the Festival Cadaques in Barcelona; Pergolesi' Stabat Mater and Cipriani's Messa Solenne in Rome; and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid and under Gustav Kuhn in Lucca.
She recently performed Haydn's Lo Speziale (Grilletta) at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla; La Cecchina, Ossia la Buona Figliuola in Sassari; La Gazza Ladra in Wildbad; a recital and Beethoven's Symphony n.9 in Lecce conducted by Marcello Panni; Don Giovanni (Zerlina) in Lucca, Novara and Bergamo; Don Pasquale under the baton of Bruno Campanella at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona; La Traviata in Siena under Gianluigi Gelmetti; La Cecchina, Ossia la Buona Figliuola at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo under Stefano Montanari; La Sonnambula in Pamplona; Rigoletto in Cosenza and Catanzaro; Die Zauberflötein Barcelona; Help, Help, the Globolinks! at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo; Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serailat the Settimane Musicali in Vicenza;Petite Messe Solennelle at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome; La Traviata in Spoleto.
Her future plans include: Mass in Cminorand Bach Petite Messe Solennelle in Erl under the baton of Gustav Kuhn; Il Signor Bruschino in Sassari; and concerts in Monaco and Kazan.
