Alexei Ogrintchouk is one of the most eminent modern oboe player. Graduated from the Gnesin state musical school, he entered Paris conservatory, where he learnt from Maurice Bourgue, Jacques Thisse and Jean-Louis Capezzali. In the play of the musician virtuosic technics harmonizes with the depth and lyrism.
Alexei Ogrintchouk was born in Moscow and since 13 he began to give concerts very actively, appearing in Russia, Japan and European countries. He continually became the laureate of prestigious International contests, among them are CIEM contest in Geneva, in which he won at the age of 19. In 1999 he was honored with European prize Juventus, twice, in 2002 in France he became the laureate of Victoires de la Musique Classique prize, in 2005 he got the Russian prize “Triumph”, and in 2007 – the prize of Borletti-Buitoni fund. He took part in prestigious programme «Rising stars» and in the project BBC «The artist of new generation».
Since August, 2005 Alexei Ogrintchouk is the soloist of Amsterdam Royal orchestra Concertgebouw headed by Mariss Jansons. In September, 2011 Alexei Ogrintchouk replaced Maurice Bourgue as a professor of oboe at Haute école de musique de Genève. Since 2001 he also works as a guest professor at the Royal academy of music in London, since 2009 he is the professor of the High school of music Musikene (San -Sebastian, Spain), and since 2010 гhe became the professor of the Royal conservatory in Hague. The musician regularly gives master classes in the academy of chamber music in Prades (France), that passes within the Festival named after Pablo Casals, academy named after Gustav Mahler (Ferrara, Italy), he gives lessons in summer session in Bilbao, music academy in Villecroze (France) and International master classes in Weimar.
the first CD of the musician with the works of Schumann was off the press by the studio Harmonia Mundi in the series «New musicians» and it got the highest appreciation of the critics. Also in the discography of Ogrintchouk there is a world premiere of the slow part of the concerto for oboe and orchestra, Beethoven (Raptus classics), the works of Britten (Record One), Skalkottas (Bis Records), concerto for oboe and orchestra,Mozart, recorded with the chamber orchestra of Concertgebouw (PentaTone Classics). Not so long ago Alexei Ogrintchouk recorded the concerts for oboe, I.S.Bach accompanied by Swedish chamber orchestra at the studio Bis Records.
