Mikhail Pochekin was born in 1990 in a musical family; his father is a famous violin maker and his mother is a violin teacher. At the age of five he started to play the violin and two years later he gave his first performance with a symphony orchestra.
In 1997 he entered the Moscow Conservatoire’s Central Music School where his teacher was Maria Iosifna Keselman. Mikhail also owes his earliest successes to his mother, who has been helping him with his studies for ten years. In 2006 he entered the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, where he studied under Viktor Tretyakov. From 2010 to 2011 the violinist also studied at High School of Music by Queen Sophia in Madrid. Mikhail Pochekin tokk part in mster-classes of such famous people as Kremer, Varschavsky, V. Repin, Blacher and Midori.
